Hey Chris, when I found your site via MH I shouted to my wife, "hey, Chris Tomlinson, the singer, came out with a book. Did you know he is in Northern VA (we are in Roanoke VA)?" She replied, "I thought the singer was Chris Tomlin, not Tomlinson." "Oh yeah, " I said. I then thought, "Well, if its on MH site, its got to be something to it." So I began to read and subscribe to your blog. Great stuff and encouraging to me in several areas. I look forward to reading Crave. Keep up the good work and God bless.

I thought the same as You, until I read your response. I looked at the add again and realized it said this book will "inspire you to find the More you're looking for in the Christian life." I don't know if that is a change, but if it is the original verbiage it is a lesson for me to read the whole context!

I gotta say, I found you because of Michael Hyatt. Just thought you'd want to know. The 8th point is valid, but surely not the only reason you've been chosen to be reproduced by MH. You gotta be worthy. And your writing and content are authentic and genuine. If you don't LIVE it, you can't WRITE it, at least successfully in my book…

Keep up the good blogging and living boldly for Christ – I too have passed the opportunity by when given, but I have found God always gives another chance (ie. papa john's driver) Keep looking! (I know you are or you'd never get outta bed at 4 a.m.)

I believe we should NEVER stop wanting more of Jesus in our lives! We should constantly strive to be more like Jesus and to do that is to have more of Jesus in us! I know that I have an insatiable appetite for wanting more of him. I learn something new every single day about Jesus and God's word and a wise person once told me that we should start worrying when we feel like we are comfortable with where we are at in Christ instead of constantly craving more of him! His grace and mercy is new every day and if I didn't have that on a daily basis, I would have been a goner a long time ago! I could never stop wanting more of Christ in my life! His love for us in unconditional and the sacrifice he made for us is one that NOBODY could even BEGIN to come CLOSE to repaying our Savior in any way shape or form! I am so in love with Christ and that love just grows stronger with every single second that passes! We are NOTHING without him!

Hi You,

Thanks for stopping by. I think your question is a great one, and it's part of the reason this site exists. To start with the answer first, I agree with you: Christ is sufficient. I don't know if you were able to check out the About tab or read any of the other posts on the site, but the purpose of this site is to "proclaim Jesus as the greatest satisfaction to every human need by pointing to His superior worth over anything else life can offer." So I think you'll find a kindred spirit here.

Working back to your question though, I think we need more of God in our lives because we treasure other things apart from His Son. I know I do at least. I tend to seek satisfaction in my work, or in ministry, or in studying about God, or in relationships, far more than I seek it in Jesus. And I'm coming to realize that nothing, and no one, will satisfy but Him. Part of the reason I wrote Crave was to share this realization in hopes that any of my brothers and sisters in Christ who may have been seeking satisfaction elsewhere would come to find Him as the Great Satisfier of their souls.

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts as we go along, so please feel free to engage more. Thanks!

just thought it was interesting that the side tab on faceb advertised this as "looking for more in the Christian life." Why do we need more? I believe Paul says Christ is totally sufficient.
